HOW THE CLASS IS DERIVED

A — internal use only, not sold.
B — sold, with no personal data, no payments and no shared customer database.
C — personal data, or payments, or many customers in a shared database. Minimum level Silver.
D — special-category data under Article 9. Minimum level Gold.

Risk questions

These derive the risk class and the minimum level. Answer honestly — the audit will establish them anyway, and a wrong class voids the certificate.

Does it process personal data? Names, emails, addresses, anything that identifies a person.
Does it take payments? Cards, subscriptions, invoicing.
Does it hold many customers in a shared database? Multi-tenant: different customers’ data in the same database.
Does it process special-category data? Health, biometrics, political or religious beliefs, sexual orientation (Article 9 GDPR).
Is it a mobile application? iOS, Android, or hybrid.
Does it have AI features? Language models, automated decisions, recommendations.
Internal use only? Only your own company uses it and it is not sold.

Code scan — 1 model All the tools and ONE AI model across your whole codebase. A report, not a certificate.
Code scan — 2 models Two models from different companies, reading the same code without seeing each other. A report, not a certificate.
Bronze Tooling and independent AI reviewers.
Silver Bronze, plus a human signature at the critical points.
Gold Silver, plus threat modelling and a penetration test.
